A recent Mexican immigrant (David Ezekiel Duran) struggles to fit into a small town in Wisconsin in winter, until discovering ice fishing.  Part of the "Year Project", a film series based on each month of the year all set in Wisconsin.

Director Nathan Deming is an award-winning Wisconsin filmmaker based in Los Angeles with a Master's in Filmmaking from the London Film School. His 2020 indie feature SPEAKING IN TONGUES premiered at the Austin Film Festival and is available on Amazon and Tubi. Its 2014 short film predecessor screened at festivals like Edinburgh and the London Short Film Festival.  In addition to his feature work, Nathan is spearheading THE YEAR PROJECT, an ambitious decade long exploration of small-town life in Wisconsin through a series of interconnected films based on the months of the year.
