OUR MISSION
MISSION: Develop a welcoming community and inspire life-long learning through the lens of a camera
VISION: Elevate the appreciation of visual expression and nurture passion for life beyond the camera
Photo Opp provides hands-on camera experience through workshops for students and youth groups, as well as publicly available community classes and a range of other public and private opportunities. Our aim is to encourage everyone to consider what is possible when we think outside the box and explore creativity without limitations.
How can you support Photo Opp’s mission?
When you donate to Photo Opp, you make a difference in lives behind and livelihoods beyond the camera.
We work to inspire young and old minds alike, fuel careers, and develop technical skills while learning the basics. You will help support freelancers and entrepreneurs, helping them build their businesses, and encouraging those with a lifelong passion for photography to continue the craft. All of this while growing an appreciation for the visual arts throughout our community.
Photo Opp is a 501(c)3 organization. We were approved in August 2022, post-dated to August 2021. Donations from individuals and businesses are tax-deductible and greatly appreciated. Initial donations will be used for buildout, supplemental equipment and 501 (c)3 start-up costs.

HISTORY OF OUR SPACE
By transforming a 100-year-old church into a modern visual workspace, we’re putting a new lens on what’s possible. We’re breathing new life into a historic building in the heart of the downtown neighborhood through an extensive remodel with help from Vision Architecture.
The history of our building also led the creative direction for Photo Opp’s logo. The building was originally the home to Moses Montefiore Synagogue. Montefiore means Mountain Flower. We used the architecture of the front of our building to give a mountainous look, and used an iris for it’s photo/video terminology (it’s the opening of a lens).
